People would want to contact me for support if they are looking for someone who can provide connection, trust, and solutions in an meaningful and efficient manner. It is my belief that people are typically within a spectrum of need where they either 1) need to disclose what they have been holding inside; 2) need the skills to cope with what has happened or what they think might happen; 3) somewhere in the middle of needing someone to listen but stay focused on solutions for today. Life is full of tough moments and important transitions which impact our functioning and sometimes requires new skills and ways of solving problems.
I have a diverse background in mental health, addictions, child and youth, and family work. Interventions are tailored to each person. I have specific focus in prenatal/postpartum transitions extending to family and childhood issues. My approach is aimed at building competency, emotional regulation, and empowering to improve distress and relationships.
Creating a safe space for people to discuss their thoughts and feelings is a priority in my practice. People should have space to share openly and feel that they are truly benefiting after each visit. I know people are busy, and taking time for our mental health should feel like a boost rather than just another appointment. I am flexible and focused on you.
