If you’re a woman experiencing anxiety and/or depression who often engages in negative self-talk, my open and compassionate way of working with body and mind may be right for you. Your gloom/dread may come from traumatic experiences, and/or it may arise from good experiences that did not happen. The empathy that wasn't demonstrated, a safety that wasn't provided, grief that wasn't attended; developmental experience influences your ability to show up as the person you want to be. Missing out on good experiences, or bearing traumatic experience, can affect your sense of security, it does not, however, stop you from earning security.
I collaborate with women to mindfully explore and cultivate their inner sense of calm and security. I use mindfulness-based cognitive therapy along with somatic awareness and skill development to help calm intense emotions that feel overwhelming. Working inside your window of tolerance will allow you to integrate past experience with current inner resources.
Overtime, cultivated security becomes your inner resource. You will learn to use this resource to make new choices. Choices that alter your life and the lives of those you love. If this prospect excites you, and your goal is to foster a strong sense of self, so that you can connect more authentically with others, we may be a match. Please contact me.
