I use a developmental-attachment lens to understand a person of any age in the context of their self development and the important people in their life. Whether it's a child, youth or adult, I know that we all struggle between the expectations of others and connecting into our own desire for balance within our self-- emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Connecting back into our self is the first step in being able to express our feelings and needs more clearly and cultivating positive relationships with those we love.
Therapy helps to clarify where you are and what you want and often that means looking at where you have been. To come into yourself, without the confusion of mixed-feelings and problematic relationships is one of the most powerful things you can do. To do this, I use evidence-based theories and methods, including EMDR, Brene Brown's work.
Therapy is the process that brings you back into connection with yourself and facilitates healing and growth. There are many different ways to do this depending on the age of the person. Check out the pictures below to see the environment and some of the therapies offered at Point on the Path.
