Heyyy! I see you there, scrolling through the sea of therapists on this platform (overwhelming, I know). If the idea of a silently nodding therapist makes you cringe… me too, and you’re in the right place. My style? Conversational, warm, and a bit kooky. I’m Heather - a clinical (but not too clinical) counsellor in Nelson, BC, and the heart behind The Lounge Room. I have a Master of Counselling and a BA in Psychology, plus a bunch of letters after my name that look like alphabet soup (MC, RCC, CCC). Curious what they mean? I work with adults 18+, mostly Gen Z & millennials (but Gen Xers seem to love my playful style too). I will die on the hill that is the therapeutic relationship - if we don’t click, therapy won’t work. If your brain sometimes feels like a spicy bowl of ramen noodles - messy, hot, and all over the place... I’m your gal.
I’m not here to "fix you" (spoiler alert: you’re not broken - and no, this isn’t a live version of that one Coldplay song). I’m here to sit with your messy, spicy, tangled thoughts, with curiosity, honesty, and zero judgment. Mostly, we will have the realest of conversations... heavy, hilarious, awkward, and profound.
