Hi! I'm Heather - an intern counsellor at Summit Mental Wellness Clinic (formerly Summit Psychology Group). I bring compassion, academic excellence, and authenticity to my role as an intern counsellor. With a BA in Psychology from the University of Victoria and currently completing a Master of Counselling at City University, Seattle, I combine knowledge with a genuine passion for helping others. Central to my practice is the belief that people are not defined by their problems. I help clients view challenges from new perspectives, uncovering the stories that shape their identity, and exploring the core of what truly matters to them.
I create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore thoughts and emotions at their own pace. Under the supervision of Dr. Helen Peel (Registered Psychologist), I offer free and low-cost counselling services in-person in Nelson and virtually for individuals across BC. First session FREE, sliding scale ($0-$60) thereafter.
My empathetic approach supports clients with a range of issues including depression and anxiety, phobias, grief, emotion management, social skill improvement, goal achievement, building resilience, and managing unhelpful thoughts.
