My name is Jessica Mick, BSW, MSW, RSW and I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about mental health and social justice issues. Having been raised by a gay parent, I was taught the importance of being non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate in my interactions with others and I strive to practice this in my everyday life. I am also continuously learning about my own culture and heritage and consider myself an ally to both the LGBTQ2+ and Indigenous communities.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from Laurentian University in 2017 and have worked in the field of mental health, addictions, and criminal justice for the last few years. I then returned to complete my Master of Social Work from Carleton University in 2020.
At HeadWay Clinic, I offer person-centered and strengths-based counselling services with youth, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in supporting individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, anger, grief and trauma, and help them to build on their strengths and resilience to manage these problems independently.
