Accepting new clients! I use a person-centered, collaborative approach, placing a heavy emphasis on the individuality of each client and take a ‘no one size fits all approach.’ It’s important to realize that some interventions and approaches that work for some, may not work for others. I have a strong passion for assisting first responders, elite athletes and clients who have experienced trauma or have been diagnosed with PTSD. Often times when clients feel ‘stuck,’ the need to access and process lived experiences and the affects of these experiences (incl. avoidance) via talk therapy, Brainspotting or Prolonged Exposure is key.
As a prior first responder, I know firsthand the impacts trauma can have. I ethically use my own personal and professional lived experiences with trauma, PTSD, severe anxiety and depression to provide the driving force in helping others identify and intervene with negative automatic thoughts, feelings and maladaptive coping strategies used to cope.
As the client, you are the expert of your own story. I encourage you to reflect on your needs, wants and goals in life. As a result, it’s important to me that I provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space for all my clients and to offer continued support, guidance and validation as you take back the power the negative experiences took from you.
