Accepting NEW clients online or In person- Whether you are seeking counselling for the first time or returning for new support, it can be difficult to reach out. I work with clients who may be feeling “stuck” or “not like themselves” and wanting to work through why this might be. It could be related to relationships, mental health such as depression or anxiety, lack of confidence or self-esteem, work conflict, high self-expectations or any other number of life stressors. You are the expert in your life and use a collaborative approach to ensure you feel supported in session and empowered to use the tools provided out of session.
I take a collaborative, person-centered approach and draw from a number of theoretical frameworks depending on each client's situation, needs and goals. I often use analogies to suggest new perspectives of what may be happening and how it may be impacting you- It can be hard to see the forest for the trees, let's explore together to see what's been missing.
Recognizing you need support can be difficult, reaching out is the first and often most difficult step in taking care of your mental well-being. Some of the most meaningful growth can take place in moments of discomfort. I encourage you to reach out for a free consultation to see how counselling can benefit you at this time. -Based out of Nova Scotia
