I am available for counselling individuals (adults and older teens) and families seeking support through life changes and challenges. In particular, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, including LGBT. I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology and 20 years of experience working in a variety of settings in the social service field. Areas of experience include bereavement, sudden loss, unresolved grief; trauma work; anger and stress management issues; anxiety, depression, fear, low self-esteem; relationship problems, couple, family, parent-child stressful changes in life, work or family.
My role is to encourage, support, and challenge. I utilize a mindfulness approach and encourage clients to use their own insights in a meaningful way to connect to their feelings and goals. I also offer confidential telephone and video-counselling.
Suffering can bring about the most enlightened profound change in one's life. It may not be immediately apparent. But through the guidance of a professional, psychotherapist negative experiences can become a great catalyst for positive self development.
