It takes courage to initiate counseling and therapy. Working with the mind and our thought processes takes curiosity, patience, and understanding. However, it is so important to not only address our thought processes but to also look at the environments we were in that helped shape the way we see ourselves. Our experiences, relationships, and connections impact our overall well being. I take great pride in you sharing that process with me so that you can achieve learning, healing, growing, and a sense of self-acceptance and love. I too have done this personal work and understand the challenges it brings but also the rewards.
I have over 20 years of experience in the field of social work. Working with CAS, supportive services for families, individuals, and counseling a variety of backgrounds. I have learned and worked with people addressing cultural identity, oppression, violence, refugees, victims of torture, children and youth, Indigenous issues, trauma, grief and loss.
I am highly empathic and very approachable. I counsel from a trauma-informed perspective and use a narrative approach that is solution-focused and strength-based. I utilize the family and various support systems to nurture healing. My wholistic approach focuses on all aspects of healing so you can thrive and cope with the daily challenges you encounter.
