I have a passion for working with youths, young adults, couples, and families on personal and relationship issues. My training is in Marriage and Family Therapy and I have experience working with youths and their families. I understand the difficulties of teenage development, but at the same time, I can appreciate how difficult it is to parent an adolescent. However, the "rebellious teen" is not inevitable and I would be happy to meet with you and your family to discuss your relationships and strategies for making parenting work.
Although I am most experienced in working with youths and families, my passion is to help families strengthen relationship bonds at all levels of the family unit in order to create healthy environments for every member of the family. Parental relationship discord also impacts child development. Change can happen.
As a Chinese therapist, I am able to conduct my counselling sessions in both Cantonese and English. The uniqueness of my background allows me to understand cultural differences between 1st generation Chinese parents, and their 2nd generation Canadian-Born-Chinese children. I work with inter-generational and inter-cultural conflicts.
