My approach to therapy is based on attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology. I provide trauma-informed and evidence-based care to facilitate a deep, compassionate exploration of your experiences. Our relationship is the foundation - it is here that we do the work that leads to growth and healing. In order to make changes (from big picture, bucket list goals, to coping with mental illness and stress, to tolerating the everyday experiences that shape our lives), we need to view ourselves and our histories realistically. We need to make meaning of our lives.
My areas of interest are trauma and PTSD; developmental trauma and neglect; first responders; sex abuse; post-traumatic growth; adult children of addicts/ psychologically disordered parents; attachment and relationships. I am a passionate nerd for all things mental health and will approach you with curiosity, kindness and without taboo.
I bring not only my clinical training and research background but have personal experience in many of my areas of interest, so I know that positive change is more than merely possible. Each of us has the capacity for meaningful change and growth - a process best facilitated by a secure connection to a trustworthy other who knows you can do and be better.
