Deciding to make a change requires lots of courage. It requires even more courage and effort to take the first steps towards it. I have several years experience of working in the mental health area and a vast theoretical knowledge of multiple modalities in therapy. In addition to my private practice I also work in the Family Services York Region (FSYR) as a psychotherapist where I work with individuals (including adults, youths, and children), couples, and families and run various groups.
I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused/Brief Therapy, Triple P, and Feminist Psychotherapy.
My doctoral training in feminism have made me passionate about working with women and other marginalized people. I strive to empower my clients to see their strengths and achieve their goals in a safe supportive and non-judgmental space where they can be heard with empathy and compassion.
