As we go through difficult experiences, I believe that there is comfort in not being alone. I believe that a connection with another person can provide an opportunity to feel safe as we explore unknown parts of our lives. I am hopeful and believe that there are possibilities that are here to be uncovered in each of us. I bring generosity of spirit into my work and will meet you where you are at in your process and we will move forward in a way that feels right for you. I am open to sitting with whatever it is that you are experiencing, including those places that may feel scary, painful or overwhelming.

Are you at home in the middle of the day eating Doritos in your PJs? Could you use a little more excellence and a little less existential dread? So many of us come to a point where we hit a wall. Distractions, hindering thoughts and the feeling of overall suspended doom eventually creeps in. Do you find yourself hating what used to be your dream job? Maybe you're watching your dreams slip away as you grapple with capitalist confinement? Or perhaps you just haven't witnessed the best version of yourself and can't wait to show up to your own life.

In the face of life's seasons, you may grapple with stress, anxiety, and burnout, struggling to manage your emotions. Past traumas may linger, weaving into unhealthy patterns and hindering your ability to form meaningful connections. You may lose your sense of self in relationships and responsibilities. Overthinking, overachieving, self-criticism, and self-doubt often prevail as you question your purpose and whether you’re on the right path. I recognize the vulnerability and courage it takes to be here and step on the path of healing! You don't have to do this alone.

Hi there – thanks for clicking on my page. I can appreciate that choosing a therapist who is a good fit can be a journey in and of itself. There can be a lot of choice and it can be difficult to know where to start or what to look for. I find it awkward to introduce myself on a website so feel free to connect with for a free 15-minute phone/video chat (where I believe my personable and professional nature better comes through). If either of us feels that we are not a good fit, I am happy to help assist you in narrowing your search from there.

Existential Counsellors
How does existential therapy work?
Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.
Is existential therapy evidence-based?
Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioural therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.
How long does existential therapy last?
The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.
Is existential therapy effective?
According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
