Life is nothing short of amazing. It's amazing how much we can go through and live to tell about it. It's amazing how fast kids grow up and time flies, how angry a co-worker can make you, how much compassion we can seem to have for others when we struggle to offer any to ourselves. It's amazing how much we put on our plates when all we need is to rest. It's amazing how much we can long for understanding and connection and how much opportunity can be missed right in front of our eyes. It's amazing how short life is. It's also amazing how much we can learn in the time we have, and how little steps can amount to such massive change.

Accepting new clients! Feeling anxious, burnt out, or just not yourself? Maybe it seems like no matter what you do you can't seem to break habits and patterns that are affecting your personal life and relationships. I aim to help people better understand themselves and their emotions, challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and reignite the spark that can sometimes go missing in life. I work with people struggling with anxiety, life transitions, stress, and relationship issues. I work with individuals and provide couple and relationship therapy.

Navigating life's crossroads can be especially overwhelming for people grappling with trauma or PTSD. These moments—choosing careers, pursuing education or sports, forming relationships, or seeking personal growth—can be overshadowed by past experiences, intensifying feelings of anxiety, emptiness, and a constant sense that something vital is missing. This can complicate making decisions, having it seem almost impossible to choose the right path forward, and the presence of trauma intensifies the pressure of these decisions. I get it, and I'm here to support you through this struggle, through thick and thin.

My areas of specialty include: highly sensitive personalities, anxiety, burnout, existential and professional concerns, relationship issues, and building somatic and emotional self-awareness.
Many clients find their way to therapy because they feel anxious, burnt out, and overwhelmed. Often, they are also newly aware of the negative impact these states are having on relationships with their loved ones, their work, and themselves. At a practical level, I help my clients reduce their symptoms of anxiety; at a deeper level, I help them unearth the unconscious beliefs that direct "problem" behaviours and patterns that are no longer serving them. I believe that what we become conscious of we can change, and that when we are empowered in this way we can then live more creatively-fulfilled, peaceful, and satisfying lives.

Waitlist for new clients
I use a mix of approaches in sessions including DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), Internal Family Systems Therapy, and existential therapy with systemic impacts in mind.
March 2024: Waitlist started. I'm happy you’ve found my page. I understand that reaching out to a therapist can be daunting, especially if you have had difficulties with other services in the past. I have a particular passion for working with members of the LGBQ, Trans, and Nonbinary communities to challenge internalized transphobia and homophobias. I am also skilled at working with people who experience anxiety, depression, BPD, and other challenges with mental health, and I love to work with youth and kids.

Every morning we start a new day aiming to be safe, happy, and fulfilled, with a sense of belonging. We know that life plays by its own rules, so we do the best we can with the knowledge, skills, and resources at hand. Some days turn out better than others. Because you are here, you probably have decided it's time to "cross that bridge", whatever that means in your life. Maybe you have reached a place with no bridge in sight. I'm here to help!

I am seasoned and passionate therapist and I believe the clients have to look for the "best fit" therapist and they will be the judge of the work I do. My approach is completely through emotional intelligence, mindfulness, with care, respect, and evidence based approach, knowing that client is not broken or need to be "fixed" yet might need someone non-judgmental with compassionate heart and mind to be fully present in their space or journey.

I empower my clients through a collaborative approach, toward positive self growth. Together we explore the challenges you’re facing, while customizing a treatment plan which leverages your strengths and builds resilience. Many of my clients are high functioning individuals, who are simply seeking assistance and guidance with a problematic issue. While I treat a variety of issues, most of my clients are dealing with anxiety, relationship, stress or life challenges.

Existential Counsellors

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioural therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
