I love working with trauma and have specialized experience with first responders. I get how it changes the way you think, feel and act so can work with emotional dysregulation and behavioural issues too. Addiction is common, and so often a way to cope, and it's the underlying issues I love to nurture and heal. At times, I work with people struggling in relationships, sometimes with themselves, or as they adjust to relationship change or loss. Other times I support people as they life navigate transitions, such as employment changes, navigating pregnancy and parenthood, or coming to terms with health issues, and/or effects of aging.
I bring warmth, empathy, and genuineness into my work. Establishing a strong relationship based on trust is always my first step. I then improve coping skills and grow a sense of stability in the world. I offer EMDR, CPT, PE and SE often for trauma, and CBT, mindfulness, and relapse prevention for addiction, relationship concerns or life transitions.
