Dorchester Counselling invites you to meet our newest clinician, Emily Edge (MSW, RSW).
Emily is a registered social worker and a mother of two boys who keep her on her toes! She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology from Carleton University, as well as a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Windsor.
Emily works with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, perinatal mental health, parenthood, and shared parenting challenges. In her practice, Emily draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Emily believes self-compassion is essential for healing and that therapy is a collaborative process—through which clients are always the experts of their own lived experience. She offers a space grounded in empathy, respect, and non-judgment, allowing clients to explore their inner world as their authentic selves—fostering growth and meaningful change.
