As a therapist, I look to develop a collaborative working relationship with my clients, focusing on teaching skills of living as appropriate to life circumstances and presenting difficulties. I specialise in the treatment of PTSD and its consequences, but also see many clients with depression & anxiety without a history of trauma. I provide diagnostic assessment, including comprehensive assessment of adult ADHD, and offer psychological assessment of personality and personality disorders. If done in conjunction with a specific diagnostic assessment, this may enhance understanding of the diagnoses and how those affect your life.
I am Certified in both CBT and EMDR and worked in a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy team in the UK. Each of these therapies has a strong evidence-base in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress and its related disorders (the spectrum of depression, anxiety, self-harm and substance misuse).
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and, in my role as a Lead Clinical Psychologist in the U.K., developed many years' experience training people in CBT. I also have over 15 years' experience in the practice of Mindfulness, which filters through in my therapeutic approach.
