People come to therapy for many different reasons. It is not a search for answers, but rather a journey towards understanding and growth that we will venture on together. I welcome all the different parts of yourself you might bring (even the ones you might not be so fond of). I am a white settler who is a fat, neurodivergent, queer femme. These are some of the many identities I hold, which shape my experience in the world. I aim to hold space to honour all the complexities and nuances that exist within you. I strive to work from an Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppressive and Trauma-Informed place.
Relational Psychotherapy operates on the foundation that our lives are shaped by the relationships we have with others - past, present and ourselves. Together we can get curious about patterns and understandings we might notice in these relationships. As queer writer, and performer Peggy Shaw says in her manifesto: "There is no such thing as a solo."
One of the most important relationships is the one we will develop together in our sessions. I offer potential new clients a no cost 30m phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit. During our work there might be sadness, anger, fear, but there will also be space for joy and laughter. It is an honour and privilege to be invited into your world.
