I work with individuals and couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT for individuals helps you process your emotions and make sense of them so that you can use your emotions as a guide and become more balanced emotionally. EFT for couples helps partners make sense of the vulnerable emotions you are each feeling underneath the reactivity present in conflict or the disconnection that results from withdrawal. As you make sense of one another's vulnerability, space opens up for compassion and understanding.
Combining emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioural, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy, my goal is to go deeper with clients to address root causes. My treatment approach aims to facilitate the understanding of emotion, enhanced communication strategies and self care practices that will enrich life satisfaction and relationships.
I provide clinical supervision to therapists in the Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and Registered Psychotherapist categories. I am a relational supervisor and I believe that supervision needs to feels safe and transparent to allow for optimal growth. I create space for supervisees to make mistakes and learn from them because that's how we grow!
