I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Eaman/Amy Thompson and I am a Professional Art Therapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I am a cisgender, demisexual woman of color (with African, Asian, and Arab roots), who lives with chronic health conditions. I identify as a Third Culture Kid, and English is my second language. I have been working in the mental health field for more than half my life, and I absolutely love what I do. If you feel like you are ready to make some changes in your life, but unsure of how to proceed - then counselling may be a great next step towards figuring out how to get where you would like to be.
My practice is curious, empathetic, and rooted in deconstructing unhelpful systemic paradigms (i.e., decolonizing therapy). I practice in alignment with art and narrative therapeutic modalities, and value collaborative approaches to healing. Our therapeutic relationship is a continual dialogue to figure out what will work best for your needs and comfort.
