I joined academia in 2007 to teach social work and counseling-related courses, after working for over 20 years within multifaceted organizations since 1990. I accept referrals from private insurance companies.

As a registered social worker, I have supported many individuals and families to overcome mental health, grief, loss, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, childhood sexual abuse, sex trafficking, violence, relationship, separation and divorce, parenting, anger management, migration, and integration.
My professional work relies on a trauma-informed intersectional approach that is embedded in respect for diversity and allyship to enhance resilience. This principle is evident in my research work and publications. Over the years I have edited three books and numerous articles in the area of integration, mental health, trauma, and sexual violence.
