Have you experienced a recent loss, whether it be through a death of a loved one or a job change? Have you witnessed or directly suffered a traumatic event? Perhaps you are feeling overly anxious or sad, and can't concentrate or sleep? Or maybe your child or teenager has become withdrawn, is having difficulty maintaining his or her grades, and is more irritable or angry than typical? If these are among your concerns, it may be time to seek assistance.
I've been fortunate to work with children, adolescents, and adults as a Clinical Psychologist since 1991. I offer assessments, including psychoeducational evaluations, which aim to understand your symptoms and make a diagnosis. Recommendations from my assessments help to inform therapy, and, in the case of psychoeducational evaluations, inform your child's learning plan.
I offer individual therapy to children, teens, and adults. I use an approach called Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, which explores how our negative thoughts influence how we feel and behave. Depending on you and your issues, I may integrate Mindfulness and Self-Compassion in therapy.

PEERS® Social Skills for Teens & Parents

PEERS® for Adolescents is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens in high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection. Teens and parents attend 16-weekly group sessions (separately) for 90 minutes per week. Teens are taught social skills through lessons and role-play, and practice these skills during group activities. Parents attend sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist their teens in these skills. Parent participation is required. Teens will learn about: developing and maintaining friendships, conversational skills, entering and exiting conversations, electronic communication, using humour appropriately, organizing get-togethers, and handling bullying.
