I support young people (ages 19-30+) who are struggling with stressors that affect the way they think, feel, or act. Difficult experiences can be confusing and overwhelming. If this sounds familiar, you may be trying to make sense of it, get relief, or recover. You've probably thought about or done something to make changes, but the situation can seem stuck. It may lead to anger, irritability, worry, anxiety, or depression. You may have a need to connect, communicate, be understood and accepted. Your goals could include gaining self-knowledge, personal resources, or skills to resolve the issues and improve your quality of life.

Through my work and life experiences, I have gained knowledge and experience in supporting my clients through anxiety, depression, self-injury, grief, trauma, family/relationship discord, parenting, and life transition.
I trust that developing insight and self-awareness is the most crucial step towards creating change and initiating healing. I believe through self-exploration and becoming more mindful we could develop a deeper sense of presence in life. I am empathic, warm, respectful, and flexible. I provide a safe and non-judgemental space for my clients where they could explore the challenges in their life without feeling judged. I have confidence that my authenticity facilitates a collaborative space where my clients could draw on their inner strengths and resiliency to continue their journey towards healing and fulfilment in life.

Most of my clients haven't found relief. They've been to many different therapist without resolution. They are not interested in medication to resolve their PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, stress or self-esteem issues and may have considered suicide in the past or used other forms of control behaviour to help them self-regulate their emotions. They typically have experienced childhood trauma through verbal, sexual, neglect and/or physical abuse that has invaded their adult lives. Or, they may have had completely normal childhoods but were, for example, adopted and are dealing with issues of belonging.

My areas of specialty and experience include trauma, addictions, depression, anxiety, cultural trauma, low confidence.
I will help you access your body based intuition so that you can find answers that are right for you and your life. The felt sense is a body knowing that we have that is just outside of verbal thought. Your inner wisdom holds the answer to what you need to feel good. Body centered approaches are helpful because while our minds are busy trying to figure things out, our body has a sense of what resonates. Art therapy is a powerful way to use colour and shape and images to access parts of ourselves that words can't convey.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in V7M. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
