I have 20 years of experience helping clients find relief from the following struggles: depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, worthlessness, despair, disordered eating, life/work transitions, addiction (substances, pornography and gambling), and the negative impacts of sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and poverty. Often in the beginning, people come in feeling overwhelmed and frustrated and may be clearer initially of what they no longer want in their life. I believe these feelings point to what people do want in their life and what's important to them - their values and hopes - and I know change is possible.
I offer individual, group, couples, and family therapy. In my couples therapy, I work with heterosexual, gay/lesbian, queer, gender diverse, monogamous or polyamorous folks in relationships who are wanting to change how they connect with each other to make room for their preferred ways to show up.
I offer a form a therapy called Narrative Therapy which is a compassionate, collaborative and non-pathologizing approach. It rest on the idea that the "person is not the problem, the problem is the problem", that people are the experts in their own lives, and that therapy is a collaboration between client wisdom and therapist’s experience/knowledge.
