You are looking for someone who just "gets it". Someone who can phrase what you are thinking when you can't seem to find the words to express how you're feeling. You are looking for someone that can help support you in managing emotions, navigating life changes and or sorting out relationships. My role as a therapist in the counselling process is to listen, provide insight and tools along the way.
My approach in working with individuals and families is collaborative. Once I have the details of your story, we will work together to develop a map of whre you would like to get to. This is done by building on the skills you have, while challenging ones that may not be healthy in a manner that is direct, non judgemental and at times humorous.
You are the expert on your life, not me. My role is to walk alonside you and support you in becoming the best self that you desire. You have already taken the toughest step which is reaching out. I am here to meet you where are and walk with you forward.
