My name is Jenell and I'm an Associate Professional Counsellor (APC) offering compassion based counselling and therapy that focuses on healing, restoration, and achieving wellness. Working from a strengths based approach, there is an understanding that each person has strength and capabilities within them to achieve health and wellness. I use an integrative and person-centered model that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, DBT, ACT, and Talk Therapy.
I specialize in working with people who are living with chronic illness, chronic pain, and with those who are navigating through changes in life (graduating high school, starting university or career planning, preparing to cohabitate, moving from cohabitating to life as a single adult, retirement, and aging with grace).
I have my masters degree in counselling psychology, and over 15 years experience working in health care; this gives me a special understanding of the importance of balance and wellness. I work with youth and adults who have mood disorders, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, those dealing with trauma and crisis, and those at end of life and their families.
