I have worked with families, children and teens in various roles and capacities over the past 20 years. I have assisted clients through grief and loss, crises, traumatic experiences, life transitions, and identity formation. Mixing Afrocentric and Western Social Work knowledge, skills and practices has assisted in shaping the empathy, understanding and supports I can offer clients. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time at cultural events, attending concerts and sporting events, and watching fantasy and sci fi movies and shows. I also cherish my time with friends as well as the younger and older generations of my family.
My therapeutic approach is based in meta theories that acknowledge the impact that social systems have on individuals based on their identity. My practice approach is eclectic and draws from therapies including; Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).

Groups
Summer Teen Wellness Group
This group will run weekly in July and August for teens between the ages of 12 - 18 and will be a fun and interactive way to build anxiety management skills, social skills, and make memories! Topics for the group will include Navigating Change, Self-Esteem and Body Image, Healthy Relationships, Emotion Regulation, Goal Setting and much more. Participants will meet weekly in person and engage in games and activities that cover meaningful topics and allow for long lasting skill development and positive memories.
