Personal distress is manageable. The majority of life stressors that contribute to distressing feelings fall into three categories that include relationship difficulties, internal factors (troubling or uncomfortable thoughts) and difficult life events (past and present). Depression and anxiety often occur when these factors go unresolved. I use cognitive-behavioural and solution focused strategies to help my clients develop manageable goals for resolving distress. Each client has the capacity for change and the evidenced-based strategies that I use in my practice are an effective way to help overcome barriers to success.
As a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) practitioner, I help my clients identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and develop healthy goals to improve relationships with family and friends. I also rely heavily on eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help my clients reduce the impact of traumatic of experiences.
Lets work together to combine mental health guidance with the expertise you already possess about your life. Let's get started today!
