Greetings! My name is David Grant and I am the founder of Global Mind Emancipation Health and Social Work Services (“GMEHSS”)! I am a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years of clinical experience. I am currently accepting new supervisees for individual clinical supervision. Clinicians can be social workers, psychotherapists, and other counselling professionals.
My clinical expertise spans different settings including hospital, criminal justice, rural and urban contexts. I provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed care to all clients, with specialized experience with Black, racialized, Inuit and First Nation communities.
As an integrative therapist, I incorporate different evidence-based modalities into treatment including, but not limited to, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Narrative Therapy. When applicable, I also incorporate ethnoreligious and spiritual lenses into treatment like Christian and Islamic perspectives.
At GMEHSS, we understand that when the mind is entrapped in trauma, pain, and other powerful internal forces, it can prevent our health from optimal functioning. Our work seeks to emancipate our minds to achieve improved functioning, agency, and balance.
