I have 15 years of experience working with neurotypical and neurodiverse children and youth in the public school system as a special education teacher and school counsellor. I have extensive experience building strong, supportive relationships with children and youth who have experienced trauma, mental health needs, and behavioural challenges. I believe that working with young people to explore the influence of their family systems and school environments helps to create meaning and take ownership of what they can control in their unique developmental stage.
For youth and adults, my intention is to help clients work through psychological challenges by practicing acceptance, creating a sense of agency, and separating from extreme thoughts and emotions which can overrun our inner worlds. Using parts language, I teach clients how to harness self-acceptance and self-leadership as a foundation for personal growth.
