I am a compassionate, understanding, non-judgmental counsellor who believes everyone has the right to wellness and balance. I provide insurance-friendly counselling for individuals, couples, families and children. My special area of focus is in helping my clients to free themselves from their painful, traumatic pasts and to achieve personal balance and wellness as they create a fresh start in life. Often, emotional and physical pain is resolved from the inside out as my clients and I interact, and as we work together to arrive at a deeper understanding of their condition and the solutions they seek.
As an interactive, solution-focused counsellor, I provide support and practical feedback to help clients to effectively address and resolve childhood trauma, emotional dysfunction and unmet developmental needs. My aim is to help clients to break out of predictable cycles and provide a safe place where healing can occur.
Many years of experience in pastoral counselling and clinical counselling within multicultural settings in Africa and North America have given me insight into different cultural outlooks. I am known for my down-to-earth, compassionate approach, as well as my ability to relate respectfully with individuals of different faith backgrounds.
