Each of us has our own unique life experiences and I believe that our ability to navigate our lives requires an appreciation of those experiences and the different difficulties we might face. The root cause of these difficulties could be related to many factors, such as our past or current experiences, and at times, we may need additional supports or just a person outside our social circle to help us in a friendly and safe space. Effective therapy is fostered through genuine connections with people, where the therapist is not only empathetic, but also sensitive and responsive to a person’s needs at a given moment during therapy.
I have been fortunate enough to support children and their families, and adults of all ages, with a wide variety of needs. I like to use an eclectic approach to therapy, which means that I often integrate many aspects of different techniques into therapy (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behaviour Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Mindfulness, etc).
