About
I use observational statements to let the child know I am following their play. I believe that my relationship with the child is the most important part of the therapeutic process. I believe that children are wise and innately know what is needed inside to heal During dramatic play, I enter the child’s play instead of watching from the sidelines. During play, I model mindfulness and self-regulation for children. I view many of the behaviors that bring children to therapy as symptoms of dys-regulated nervous systems. I believe children’s play is a way for them to show me how it feels for them to be in their world.
I offer counselling for children who are stugging with issues including: anxiety, depression, or adjustment to divorce or blended families. I also work with children who have experienced trauma. I also have experience working with children who have special needs including autism as well as language or learning disabilities.
Please reach out and we can chat about your child's needs to see if my services might be a good fit.
