Hello! My name is Cristina. I am passionate about supporting individuals (ages 5 and up) in navigating and in taking actionable steps to better their mental health. I specialize in trauma and PTSD that stem from early life experiences, or due to acute trauma from present day. I also support those experiencing anxiety and stress that arise from relationship difficulties and various life situations. I also work with those affected by neurodevelopmental challenges including Autism Spectrum and ADHD. Furthermore, I enjoy supporting parents and caregivers navigate the complexities of parenthood.
I draw upon a combination of modalities to provide an integrative approach to therapy. I generally apply Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Somatic Experiencing, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. When working with children, I incorporate aspects of Play Therapy, Sandtray and Art Therapy.
I strive to implement a strength-based and a person-centered approach to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with each individual I work with. My goal is for us to work collaboratively and to work towards meaningful change. I aim to hold a culturally-informed, and a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients especially in times of vulnerability.
