I can help. I am a licensed psychologist and I work with individuals and couples who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, chronic illness, grief, and relationship problems of all types.

I believe that personal growth and relationship renewal go hand in hand and that both require psychological skills which can be learned.
Are you are tired of struggling and want to start living? Are you stuck in addictive behaviours or repeating the same self-defeating patterns? Do your relationships feel out of control? Is your home a place of love and comfort or a war zone? Do you worry endlessly? Do you "have everything" but still feel unhappy? If your answer is "yes", I might be the right guide for you to provide you with tools for growth and coaching on rescuing failing relationships. For 20+years I have been helping adults, teens, couples and families find pathways to more satisfying lives.

I help individuals & couples (of all cultures, races, gender and orientations) who are dealing with major life transitions and who experience stress, anxiety, grief, and recent or old traumatic experiences.
Whether it's a new baby, the loss of a loved one, a betrayal, tension in relationships, or a recent relocation... sometimes we lose our footing. You may find that your usual coping tools are no longer bringing you the same relief. Unlike blogs and books that offer one-size-fits-all advice, or unlike your friends and family who mean well, but are too emotionally-invested to give you clear guidance, I offer you effective tools, unique to your needs and situation, in a non-judgmental and safe space. I’m a bilingual (English & French) somatic psychotherapist and Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Quebec, Colorado and California.

Over the years as a helping professional I realized that people care less about clever language and elaborate techniques and more about receiving sincere love and compassion, living hope and courage, honest feedback, and new perspectives. What proved to help is having the mutual trust to explore and work on intimate, sometimes painful topics, step-by-step. Together, we invite your strengths and natural wisdom to take the steering wheel of your life, letting go of the grasp of your fears and limiting self-beliefs. Together, we also help you chose and create new habits towards a better ways of being.

You may not know what is causing you distress, and need someone to help you sort it all out. As a long-time psychologist, I have practiced in many settings: hospitals, school boards, an OSI clinic and EAPs. I also have extensive experience with couple and family counselling. Are you looking for a comprehensive approach based in neuroscience? Services can include neurofeedback, bilateral stimulation, hypnosis and reconsolidation therapy. These modalities are effective for those with hypersensitivities who are not open to talk therapies. The combination, a somatic treatment and a psychological one, is extremely potent and effective.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
