About
Is your teen or tween struggling? Feeling anxious about COVID-19, friendships or how to fit in? Maybe your child is withdraw or acting out? Our art therapist, Maryam Gerami, gives kids a voice through art, when words alone are not enough. Art therapy is particularly well-suited to young people as it is a non-threatening way to communicate and work through difficult issues. Maryam also has 15 years' experience as a mental health counsellor, working with kids, teens, adults and families on issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues and autism spectrum disorder.
Maryam began her career as a medical doctor and psychiatrist in her native Iran, working with a diverse patient population in assessment, diagnosis and treatment. She is also a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Maryam provides services in English and Farsi/Persian.
Life is confusing in these strange pandemic times. Maryam can help you or your kids make sense of your experience, change negative patterns, develop new ways of addressing old problems and build resilience.
