About
For the past twenty-nine years, I have counselled and supported a diverse range of individuals who are challenged with emotional and psychological issues. I am a qualified clinical social worker in good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have an exceptionally strong commitment to helping individuals and their families optimize overall function and mental health through a collaborative therapeutic journey that focuses on the individual's inter/intrapersonal strengths and develops new skills and strategies.
I have extensive experience with assisting individuals to cope with the following challenges: acquired and chronic illness; terminal illness; chronic pain; life transitions; acute and post-traumatic stress; abuse; anxiety; depression; grief - death, loss of relationship, employment, low self esteem; sexual orientation and identification issues.
I earned a Bachelors of Social Work from Western University in 1991 and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Western University in 2003. Since 2011, I have been certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and in 2012 I completed Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
