About
Hello, my name is Lindsey Morton. After working overseas for nearly a decade, I made the journey back to my hometown of Campbell River with the professional intention of supporting both youth and adults working toward mental wellbeing within the community. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and I am currently employed by school district 72 as a school counsellor. I am incredibly grateful to live in a beautiful costal community and honoured to have the opportunity to practice counselling on Vancouver Island.
My philosophy in counselling is person-centred. I strive to listen to my clients from a place of empathy so they may feel understood. I believe that being understood is essential, especially during difficult times in life. With a non-judgemental approach and unconditional positive regard, I create a safe and caring space for experiences to be shared.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (#18874), and a professional Member of the CCPA possessing a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation (#10007940), my services are covered under most medical plans. Approved counsellor by the First Nations Health Authority.
