Hi, I’m Jen! I’m the face behind Clearwater Art Therapy. With my education rooted in creation and art making (MFA) I knew I wanted to share a creative space with others. Specializing in the intersection of creativity and clinical healing, I focus on trauma-informed care, recognizing that the creative process can often 'speak' when words are not enough. My approach is grounded in empathy and evidence-based practice, ensuring a safe, supportive environment for clients to explore emotional regulation, resilience, identity and foster self-compassion.
We don't always have the right vocabulary for our pain, and that is where Clearwater Art Therapy jumps in! By shifting from talking to making, we bypass the logic of the brain and we can tap into the wisdom of the heart, using imagery, metaphor, colour, form and shape... and NO! you don't need to be an artist or have any art-making experience!
My practice is for anyone seeking a new perspective on their mental health. Art Therapy can be a vital tool for children finding their voice, teens navigating the complexities of identity, or adults looking to break through emotional plateaus. You don't need an 'issue' to start; you just need a curiosity about your own inner world.
