About
I have over 20 years of experience working with children and families, and have both a M.Ed. in Counselling as well as a Master of Social Work. Although I work with individuals of all ages, the majority of my practice is now geared towards working with young children who are struggling with grief, trauma, depression, and social, behavioural or emotional challenges. I also enjoy working with children who have been affected by a family member's disability, PTSD, mental, physical or emotional illness. I do occasionally take on new adult clients, but at this time, my waitlist is only open to children under 12.
I use an eclectic approach that allows me to tailor treatment to best fit an individual’s needs. I am trained in a variety of modalities, and pull key elements from each to give comprehensive care to my clients and allow them the best chance for happiness and health. My work with children is skills-based, and focuses on helping them learn and cope.
I strongly believe in every person's resilience, and view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership - I am here to work with you and to support you as you learn new ways to think, cope and behave. I approach each session with creativity, compassion and curiosity, and look forward to my time with each client.
