About
I'm a Ph.D.-level psychologist who DEEPLY ENJOYS seeing people finding new ways of becoming comfortable, healthy, and happy. More specifically, I get to see people (a) moving out of extraordinary distress or sadness, (b) realizing that they are healing or unwinding from what they've been through, (c) realizing that they aren't "stuck in the past" or in negative patterns anymore, (d) realizing that they like themselves "for the first time" in their lives, and last but not least, (e) realizing that they are getting excited about change . . . especially when it wasn't imaginable just a short time ago.
For these reasons, I love my job. I have 21 years of counselling experience, 10 years of private practice, 14 years of University, 3 psychology degrees, and roughly 2000 hours of supervised counselling with senior psychologists (in one of the very few university counselling programs in Canada that is accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association).
I have an extensive counselling background with First Nation, Inuit, and Metis people. I was honoured by being chosen as one of a handful of support psychologists for the National Truth & Reconciliation . . . and I am privileged to be on the very short-list of approved providers for First Nations and Inuit Health, Canada.
