Christina works as a counsellor at Acadia University. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, musician's mental health, relationships, grief and loss, spirituality, and yoga philosophy (including the practice of pranayama - breath control). She is a certified yoga instructor and former professional musician. In 2022, she was an associate professor for the School of Music for Acadia University. Previously, Christina worked as the child and youth therapist for eating disorders Nova Scotia and as the eating disorders therapist for Child and Youth Mental Health in Duncan, BC.
Christina’s approach is holistic, strength-based, and trauma informed. She draws from various modalities including: Family-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Focusing, mindfulness-based practices, as well as art-based methods. She is honoured to be living on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.
