I currently have space virtually and Tues/Wed evenings. I work with children, youth, adults and couples in a variety of areas. As part of a blended family, I have a special interest in the experience of step-parenting and the often challenging dynamics. In my work with children I work closely with parents to integrate an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices at home. I enjoy supporting couples to find new ways to communicate and understand one another, and to break the unhelpful patterns we all tend to fall into.
I have been a school social worker for over a decade, and understand systems of education and how to work with them to support children and youth who are struggling. I provide support navigating parenting, divorce /blending families, trauma and addictions. I have an eclectic approach that includes Brainspotting in additional to talk therapy.
The attentive listening, empathy and feedback that are part of the therapy process can help reduce feelings of isolation, connect us to inner resources and lead to meaningful change. I believe people connect through laughter, and humour is often a part of my practice. I am happy to provide a free phone consult to ensure a good fit prior to providing services
