About
Life can be very overwhelming, and often finding the right therapist can help us to cope with life's many challenges. I am a licensed therapist specializing in the fields of trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and family/relationship conflict. In the past, I volunteered as a crisis aid line worker, then as a psychotherapist in a community agency for 6 years where I was lucky enough to train for 1 year with a renowned psychiatrist who treats individuals who experienced trauma. 12 years ago, I began my private practice in psychotherapy and I truly love what I do. Sessions are offered virtually or by phone at this time.
I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for you to get a sense of me, to ask questions, and for me to have a better understanding of what yo are looking for through therapy. In therapy, I use evidence-based therapies. We work together as a team using the psycho-education, tools and therapy methods that will work best for you.
I have trained in Mindfulness Meditation and taught yoga for 7 years, and have training in body-centred therapy approaches. In order to heal, it is helpful to work with the thoughts/belief patterns, emotions, nervous system (increasing feelings of safety), and body (building tolerance to felt sensation/emotions & increasing our window of tolerance).
