As a practical, results oriented therapist, my treatment approach will provide you with insight and feedback to help you address current and longstanding issues. I approach my work with sensitivity and compassion. With an integration of complimentary methods, I draw upon a selection of styles and techniques to incorporate what is most helpful to you as an individual. I have been providing counselling for 30 years and appreciate the courage it takes to book that first appointment.
I provide individual, couple and (adult)family counselling for people struggling with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, work stress, grief and bereavement, relationship loss, eating disorders etc. My areas of interest include relationship based struggles such as couple counselling, mother-daughter issues, current and historical family dynamics, employee-employeer situations and so on.
To me, people are comprised of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships and then the context of the world we live in. Hence I draw upon a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems theory, Psycho-dynamic theory, Solution Focused therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy. I offer EMDR as a trauma oriented intervention.
