I am a Registered Social Worker in Ontario working with youth (14+) and adults. I have Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) and settler Canadian background. I have dedicated much of my career to working with Indigenous peoples and First Nations communities. I welcome clients seeking a therapist with an understanding of Indigenous culture, intergenerational trauma, and cultural identity/disconnection. I have over 8 years of experience working within private practice and community setting. My experience includes facilitating group-based therapy, and working with individuals providing one-on-one therapy that have various mental health diagnoses.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, trauma-informed care, and use a wide range of modalities. I work from a wholistic approach that integrates Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and psychology. I enjoy helping others while using strength-based approaches and integrating various treatment therapies to best meet the needs and goals of my clients.
I believe clients are experts in their own lives that may need some guidance in accessing their inner knowledge. My hope is to help you engage and enhance your capacity for introspection, reflection, and self-awareness to better understand and navigate your past, present, and future allowing you to feel empowered and hopeful.
