As a registered professional counsellor, I try to help one feel a sense of safety and comfort, where one can explore feelings and beliefs in order to come to a clearer understanding of themselves and what they are struggling with. I believe everyone has their own solutions to their problems and sometimes just need a little help figuring that out.
What I try to focus on doing with clients, is to shine a light on the underlying causes of their dilemma's, and to help them to have better awareness of themselves, with empathy, compassion, and care.
