I am a social worker with over 12 years experience providing counselling to diverse people who are experiencing complex challenges related to mental and physical health, substance use, racism, homophobia, gender-based violence, and family conflict. With a wide range of lived experiences, I am relatable, and offer knowledge, experience, emotional as well as practical support to my clients. I have a genuine concern for my clients’ overall well-being and I cultivate relationships with my clients to help them create meaningful change. I help clients to achieve a better quality of life by envisioning and building the life they desire.
My professional speciality is counselling youth, adults and seniors, by using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I help people recognize the power they possess and build strategies for self-improvement and self-advocacy. I promote social justice and equity for racialized and oppressed communities by using an anti-racism and anti-stigma lens.
As a therapist at Become Resilient Individuals (BRI) Counselling Services, I create a warm, safe, welcoming and brave space where all voices can be heard, challenges overcome, and lives transformed. The BRI Counselling mission is to ignite hope, build strengths and empower people to become more resilient in all aspects of life.
