Do you feel lost, burnt out, or that you're barely surviving and can't catch a break? I support clients through the messy and complicated periods of life. As humans we face all sorts of challenges - from your relationships dynamics or mood (like anxiety or depression), trauma from the past that keeps getting in your way, or just general "life" (like parenting, finances, health conditions). Therapy is the space to get some support, learn some tools and find some insight on the patterns which will help meaningful shifts in your life from surviving to thriving.

I hold space for women who are ready to commit to a deep & conscious spiritual process of healing & transformation. Whether wanting to recover from trauma, feeling lost, depressed, anxious, or the have the call to deepen their journey. Convinced that no healing happens unless body is involved and shadow integrated, I have a transpersonal approach that weaves tools like somatic therapy, EMDR, cyclical awareness, psycho-spiritual education & breathwork, from a humanistic & client centred stance. It keeps developing as I deepen my study in the areas of trauma, transpersonal therapy, ancestral & collective trauma and energy healing.

Balancing areas of psychotherapy with the expressive arts, including pet, music and art therapy as well evidence based such as EMDR.
I imagine my client with their therapist as pioneers in their journey. Whether it is grief, transition, relationships or trauma. As pioneers, we explore, travel, and come to discovery. This discovery may help an individual to work on goals, their growth, treatment and healing. This self discovery is simply facilitated by the therapist and lead by the client.

I advocate on how creative expressions provide insight opportunities in exploration and identification into one’s underlying causations within their behaviors and perspectives. Furthermore, I believe the innate emotional therapy, comes from the “process-making”, of one's creative expression, and not as much - from the aethestic, of one's end result the piece.

The psychodynamic approach can help us gain new insights into our lives, and by integrating art into the session, it can become a powerful mind-body-oriented resource for individuals to look into themselves, and at their concerns, from a different angle.
I am a Professional Art Therapist (member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association) and a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold my Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy (MCP: AT) degree from Adler University, where I focused on integrating art therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and EMDR.

"Life has many ways of testing a person's will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen all at once.” ― Paulo Coelho. We have the ability as humans to overcome adversity, trauma and life altering stressors. You may clearly know what is bothering you or it may be deep in your unconscious, regardless, there needs to be a feeling. Whether the feeling is the desire for change or the awareness that you need help; it is the first step in your healing. The goal is to process the feelings that hold you back, thus freeing up space for positive memories, healthy coping, and self compassion.

I help you get to the root of your problems, train your brain to be more resilient, and overwrite unwanted default programming so you can make lasting change. 95% of your thoughts and behaviours are processed in your unconscious mind, which is why, even though you might want something better for yourself, you find yourself stuck. I use evidence-based techniques like hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and neurofeedback to help you access your unconscious mind, and reprogram unwanted thoughts and behaviour patterns for good.

I work with women and parents who’ve spent years doing their best - managing work, relationships, and family - yet still feel anxious, overwhelmed, or never quite enough. They’re tired of holding it all together and want space to slow down, feel seen, and find steadier ground. My clients want to understand why they keep pushing past their limits and learn how to care for themselves with the same compassion they offer others. Together, we create practical, meaningful ways to feel more like themselves again.

I offer experiences with Sandplay, Art, and Play Therapy in conjunction with more traditional counselling options.
The world we live in is complex, fast moving, and often overwhelming. For so many children, teens and adults the ability to calm our minds, decompress from the stress of deadlines and schedules, and develop the unique qualities that make us individual, simply isn't available. Anxiety, stress and frustration can lead to challenging behaviours, withdrawal from family and friends, depression, decreased confidence, and distance from our usual pleasure in hobbies, sports and work. Counselling is about growing your strengths and being empowered to step beyond those events or challenges that have left you feeling vulnerable or wounded.

You’ve survived — now let’s help you live! You’ve pushed through a lot. Now you’re ready for something more — more peace, more self-trust, more of you. Let's reclaim your life. You don’t have to go back and relive it all, but together we can help you stop carrying it alone. I bring both professional training (including EMDR) and lived experience to this work. I know what it’s like to feel stuck in survival mode, and how powerful it is to finally feel safe in your own body and choices.

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
