I have worked for over 10 years with children, teens, and parents of diverse populations in community, school and counselling settings. I utilize a person-focused and attachment-based framework in my work while implementing expressive modalities of therapy to engage and support children and teens in the therapeutic process.
My therapeutic approaches include the use of Play, Sandplay, Art, Cognitive-behavioural, Narrative, Exposure Therapy and Emotion-focused techniques. I recognize counselling as a collaborative process between the therapist and their client, in which encouragement, validation and acceptance are pivotal for a client to feel supported.
I understand that therapy can be a daunting process for children, teens, and their parents/guardians at times. I aim to make the therapeutic process as fulfilling as possible for all members of the family while maintaining the best-interest and confidentiality for the child or teen that is my client.
